Decent Essays
Not every partnership is smooth sailing, although that is the ideal. The last instance where I really struggled with a partner, was in high school, together we were working on hosting a Fair Trade Fair for our school. Throughout the year our class had been learning about the social injustices seen in many large corporations and problems in labor. Together, Mary and I, had been placed as co-chairs of this event. Issues arose between us because we each had unique visions for the event that didn’t exactly match up and very different ideas of who our venders should be. However, as the days went on, we put aside our differences by taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture - the impact our event was going to have on our school was greater

I never really got a chance to get to know my Aunt Marilena, seeing that she lived in McLean, Virginia and I almost never saw her. I didn’t really think her life was ever that complicated or rough; her husband (my uncle) is a millionaire, so she never has to worry about anything money related, she’s a stay-at-home mom. I just didn’t really think about it until I sat down to talk to her about her college experiences. We were at my grandpa’s house in Columbus, Ohio, she was there to help him move out, sitting at the dining room table. Hands folded on the table, she looked alert and ready to answer my questions.…

One solution that I suggested to Carl and Regina is that they form a joint-company. A joint company is business venture formed by two parties in which they share rights and responsibility for this company while still having their own image to uphold. In this joint company, Regina would bring to the table her knowledge of Social Media Analytics, while Carl brings in his knowledge of old-fashion means of advertising; I mean he did teach Regina how to write an excellent press release. Similar to every other joint venture, there are some advantages and disadvantages in going into business with someone else The disadvantages or dead weight as I like to think of it, of the company would be the unlimited liability, the disagreements, and the unlimited…

Each has advantages and disadvantages, depending on various circumstances. Running a new business as a sole trader is the easiest approach, since getting started costs very little and is simple. The sole trader does not pay separate income tax and is not subject to company regulation such as the Corporations Act (Birt, Chalmers, Byrne, Brooks & Oliver, 2012). Also, the owner can retain full control, have rights to make decisions and get all the profits, if the business underperforms, he can offset losses against other income. However, the individual has unlimited liability since it is not a separate legal entity.…

Through this process we focused on what we wanted to represent as a team working together in the best interest of our students. In the end we developed a vision that is now a foundation for our success, because everyone will benefit from our accomplishments. If we are able to effectively collaborate, which is important to our vision, then we will be able to create challenging lessons for our students and make certain that we are meeting the need of all students and inspiring them for future experiences. During the vision creating process, I also gained some perspective of things I need to develop for my future as a leader. Knowing that my personality is led by my feelings, there were moments when I did take things a little too personal.…

To be effective in systems thinking I would want to apply a collective balance as a whole in performance in academic studies. If I was performing poorly I would want to take a moment to analyze all aspects of my academics and view what is working and what areas are not working. It’s an inventory that provides me an opportunity for my own feedback. Then I would implement a new strategy to change the poor performance by coming up with a new process that can balance myself in a more effective manner to achieve better performance in my studies.
