Everyone’s story is different. This is my story. I was born in Hartford, Connecticut on March 5th,2003. That’s some of the boring stuff but moving to Texas was one of my best gifts. I meet my best friends, i’ve went to great schools, and I found a love for multiple things. I’ve been given a lot of other gifts on the way. Such as meeting my best friend and getting invited to a club volleyball team. The second best gift I got was meeting my very first best friend named victoria. We were in kindergarten and I lived across the street from her. She’s more like a sister to me but i have two of those so i consider her my best friend. We get in fights a lot and we take breaks a lot but we always end up being friends again. I can tell her anything

Every Life Matters I really only started understanding the meaning of abortion once one of my mom’s friends had one. Before that I had very little knowledge about abortion. My parents have always taught me to stand by what I believe and that others may have different beliefs. They always told me that I would meet people that would disagree with me and what I believe not only when it came to these kind of topics but many other things as well. Being told that, they told me to always respect people’s beliefs and their points of view because everyone has the right to stand by what they believe, just like I do.…

Iclesias Phanord Breaking the Norm I’m surrounded by bouncing basketball and expectations. I had not yet found my vocation. However, many people around me had; whether it was basketball, cheerleading, or track - they had found a purpose that drove them. In choosing this topic for my Take the Challenge project, I didn’t realize how much I would experience my topic. I’m Michaela La Vonne Dimick. I am 16 years old, and I have depression. If anyone has looked at a brightly colored image, and then looked at a black-and-white version of that image, then he or she would notice that he or she observes more detail in the black and white photo. Depression is like this.…

A Thousand Experiences Throughout life, individuals face different obstacles and struggles; my obstacle was my tendency to be shy. For example, when I was faced with social pressures like speaking in front of a class for a presentation, or meeting new people, I would be a nervous wreck. My palms would sweat, my voice would tremble, and it took all the strength I could muster to overcome my irrational fears. I only had a small, albeit close knit group of friends due to my introverted ways.…

April 22nd, 2014, it was supposed to be like any other day for James. Wake up, eat breakfast, go to his job, return home to his family, sleep, rinse and repeat. It was like this for the longest time, day after day the same process; however, today would be different. James woke up, munched on donuts with coffee, and arrived to work with just a few minutes to spare despite needing to attend an early meeting. He was unable to remember; it seemed to be a trend lately and the boss certainly was not appreciating the lack of profession.…

The best thing about life is the experiences we gain as we go out and explore the world for ourselves. There are extravagant experiences that we may brag about to others, and then there are worthwhile experiences, the little, yet personal, experiences that are deeply meaningful to us that others may not enjoy the same way we do. Worthwhile experiences allow us to connect with people we may or may not know in an intimate way, and to me, these experiences need to be shared with others and not taken for granted. I was lucky, because I was able to experience my first Western Art concert with my grandmother by my side, and it was a day that I will never forget. On October 1st, 2015 I attended my first ever Western Art concert with…
