We were almost halfway through our basketball season when I had to face a pretty big hurdle. We were having an amazing season and were projected to make it really far in tournaments. I wouldn’t take any of it back because going through this tough time, it taught me how to look on the bright side of everything. I am such a positive person now because of this. I don’t take my health for granted anymore like how I used to. I wake up every morning thanking God for my health and the opportunities He has given me. I now know how to bounce back from difficult times and work hard for what I want to achieve. I believe there will be times in college where I will be stretched; however, I look forward to this because I know it will help me grow as a person. I know I will be stretched by stepping out of my comfort zone. I am a pretty quiet person, so I will have to become more involved and step out on my own to meet new people. I know there will also be times when I won’t understand things like class material. In this case, I will ask questions and study hard to become a master in this field.
