Earlier this school year in agriculture class some of my friends and I were in the garden pulling weeds. One girl pulled up a patch of weeds and discovered a mouse. Several people started scrambling around while the girl wanted to pick it up. One of my friends, an outdoor person scooped up the mouse in such a way as to avoid being bitten. The mouse squealed and the first girl mistook its squeal of fear for a squeal of pain. She then repeatedly said, “Don’t hurt it!” In the midst of this commotion another one of my friends, often known for his extroverted character and ability to entertain, proceeded to chase my friend, holding the mouse, with a shovel yelling, “Put it on the ground so I can kill it!” I then acted on what I thought at the time …show more content…
While it was good that the mouse was removed it would have been better to kill it. The mouse will just keep coming back until you kill it, and if you don’t kill it eventually there will be several mice in the garden causing more …show more content…
Indulgence in wrong doing results in a habit not easily broken. But once we do get rid of the mice we need to make sure that they’re dead permanently. We do however need to replace the habit with something else as to not leave a house un-occupied. We should replace the bad habits with good ones so just in case the old habit try’s to come back the house will be occupied without room for things that will be against Gods law.
B) For another analogy think of the garden as your character. Trials come through and try to destroy all the good traits and replace them with plant stubble. To develop good character traits untainted by mice. We need our gardener to kill the mice for us. Ask God to help you kill the mice in your character daily.
C) Now flipping the analogy think of yourself as the mouse. God tries to pick us up to take us out of the world. But we squeal often because we don’t want to be taken. Nevertheless we need to allow God to better shape our character so we can one day be in paradise with him. He protected us from Satan by coming down to the world to save us so we wouldn’t have to die. He body slammed Satan’s power over us so we could be saved. We need to clean out our house and ask Jesus to come
