Walking through the gym I heard “Bailey, come here!” with a confused look, I glanced up and it was coach Taylor, “Meet in my office!” she yelled. Rushing as quickly as I could, my mind began wondering in a million desperate directions. I was beginning to think what I had done the past few weeks, hoping I was remembering correctly because from what I knew I was in the clear. Being nervous and concerned as to what was fixing to happen, I made my way to her request. Walking in staring at the solid white walls, with the rich coconut smell that she had in her candle my heart started racing. Gently, I found a place to sit on her black new coach that was yet to be broke in. She was shortly behind me, and all I could here was the thud of the door being shut. She then began to ask, “How was your day?” I told her it was going well and she eased into how I had been doing really good in practice, and I just told her thanks and she then said “I would like to tell you that your skill level has improved, and I gladly congratulate you on now being a part of the varsity team.” My heart sank; it was as if my blood just drained to my toes. I guess since it was a “team” meeting, little did I know I wasn’t included. The door about broke my nose as I tried to enter, as you could say my attempt to join was a fail. I could have sworn my heart skipped a beat, I knew then that this was going to be pure hell.
