Personal Narrative Essay: Wilburn Wright As My Hero

Have you ever wondered what life was like fighting during World War II? It was, of course, parlous due to everything that took place. The people who however did survive were lucky. My 93-year old great-grandfather, Wilburn Wright is a World War II veteran that’s still living with us today. The curiosity that I had about his adventures and the bravery he carried on when fighting inspired me to choose him as my hero.

World War II required involvement from a multitude of people from all around the world to take part in the fighting, and Wilburn was one of them that chose to risk his life. He was in the Army, giving him more momentum to fight. In the summer of 1942, he joined the battle and never left until the end. Since the war ended in
