I know that at least one person would notice that i'm doing something right. I would always observe people and how they react to others. I hate being close to others too. The second reason why I did not want to join track is because of practice, I might have to practice every week, and what about studying? There’s no time for practice if I had summatives and formatives. Taking track my lower my grade down. That might impact my high school GPA too. Plus, all track meetings are after school. Sometimes, the activity bus won’t be there. It’s basically a waste of gas. I don’t need all the stress of competitions and meetings. Sometimes it might be too much work just for athletics. I should be worrying about education and things like

The thing about running is that you hate it until it’s over, at least for me that’s true. Personally, I like running, and it gives me a chance to get out and work towards something. All throughout high school, I’ve run track, and for two years I ran cross-country, both are great sports. The two years I ran cross-country made me wish I ran all four years. If you’re part of more than one sport, it’s natural to choose a favorite.…

Up until a year ago, I was one of the most conceited people you’d ever meet. School has never been difficult for me, and when I was in middle school, I undoubtedly showed that to my classmates. If I earned a 102% on a test, I’d relentlessly question my classmates about their scores, impulsively blurt out my own score, and heartlessly cause them to hang their heads in self-disappointment. Eventually, I realized the reason I did this was because I assumed my only talents were affiliated with academics.…

“Runners on your mark…Set...Poww!” Those were the last sounds I heard during what could have been my last race of my sophomore year in collegiate Track and Field. It was a frisky, yet cool Saturday in April and after a strong performance in the previous indoor and outdoor season (4x100m and 400m), I was determined to continue and uphold my strong form on this day. There is a saying that things do not always turn out the way we hope, but I believe, there is always a positive lesson to be learned from every life event. I love sports.…

As a result I receive all the little perks that accompany seniority, the parking spot, one of only a couple lockers, special discounts on equipment, and access to the gym whenever I feel like it. Different people are there for different reasons. Some are there to get themselves in shape, others are there to learn self-defense, and then a number of others such as myself are more involved in the sport aspect of it.…
