In 5th grade, basketball was this unknown sport that I didn't really know much about. I had played basketball video games, but never the real game. I was excited, but really nervous to play. I got through 5th grade year, and 6th grade started. When I walked into school on the first day, I didn't see Mrs. Hamm. I thought maybe she was just late. But when I asked people around me where she was, they told me she had moved away to teach at a different school.

I had scored the last goal in my first ever basketball game! Everyone cheered and I was in even more shock than before. After that, I was way more confident in how I played, because I knew I could do it.
The A game was next. I was ready to play another game. But, Mrs. Brandt never put me in. I was really sad when that happened, after that game, I wasn't on A team any more. At the end of that season, I felt like I did alright.
7th grade year came along, and I started the year running cross country with Mr. Sibley. At the end of cross country, I was so excited to finally play basketball again. The first game felt like it came faster than the last year. We all went into the gym and warmed up. I felt like I was better than I was the year before, and I was really excited. At the beginning of practice, the day before our first game, Mrs. Brandt lined everybody up on the base line, she told five of us to change our reversible practice to blue, and everyone else to turn theirs to yellow.
We were about half way through practice, Mrs. Brandt stopped us. "The five in blue are our A team starters tomorrow", she said with
