Watching red lights flash ominously, brushing shoulders with strangers on busy roads, hearing the loud and obnoxious beep when his octopus makes contact with the machine, as it leeched away the life in his card, he wondered silently, what is the meaning of his life?

Wasn't it just the same routine over and over again, as if it were just a rewind machine that some unknown being was controlling, watching emotionlessly as people lost their loved ones, then hit the rewind button again.

Breakfast, work, toilet breaks, lunch, work, dinner - it was just that. Maybe the occasional joke that stuck in his mind, or memories made with his coworkers and neighbours, greeting the guard at the entrance of his apartment building.

Kicking off his slippers, he put his cup back down in his sink and walked into his study, knowing that it's probably time to start working on his presentation due tomorrow.

And with that thought, he slowly sank back into the dark part of his mind. It only seemed yesterday when he was and carefree, and the only problem in his life is whether his shirt tomorrow would match his shoes.

He vaguely remembers the school days when he would run down the corridors with his friends, wearing caps backwards trying to be cool, and also playing pranks on his classmates because it was 'cool'.

He also remembers hanging out with his friends during holidays, visiting anime exhibitions and playing video games together, and also serious conversations at 3 am about their futures.

Shaking his head, he closed the lid of his computer, realising that he could never get anything done with the turmoil in his

It had been a constant reminder of the days when they were innocent, wide-eyed and childlike, an age in which they would look at the world with curious stares and bright smiles, a time he had missed dearly despite not wanting to remember. His once high spirits had been crushed, leaving behind chaotic remains of distant memories and good times which his mind couldn't help but visualize every time he would merely blink; and his wandering thoughts would always, without fail, would drift away and ponder what would life would be like had they not grown up, if they hadn't lingered a bit too far away from each other and lost one another forever, if things were simple, like how their childhoods were; he could only wonder.…

It was almost as if the world was on a constant loop; a constant, boring, uninteresting, repetitive, loop that you weren’t able to drag yourself out of – well, there weren’t many ways to drag yourself out of this loop since this was how the world was now, especially being a woman at The Sanctuary. For some odd reason, Negan - the leader of your large group and a man you have only spoken to a handful of times before-, seemed to have a slight, one could say, protective aura when it came to women and letting them venture out into the new world. Today was nothing different. Waking up at the ass crack of dawn, you rested on your small mattress for a few minutes, staring up at the grey ceiling and listening to the light snores and breathing of your bunkmates who…

The airplane carrying Josaphat away from Metropolis swam in the golden air of the setting sun, rushing towards it at a tearing speed, as though fastened to the westward sinking ball by metal cords. Josaphat sat behind the pilot. From the moment when the aerodrome had sunk below them and the stone mosaic of the great Metropolis had paled away into the inscrutable depths, Josaphat had not given the least token that he was a human being with the faculty for breathing and moving. The pilot seemed to be taking a pale grey stone, in the form of a man, with him as freight.…
