Personal Narrative Essay: Volunteering For A Horse

It all started when I was a little girl, I had always wanted a horse. So when I was 8 I started to take lessons but that only lasted for a few years, hard times hit and I wasn’t able to afford to ride anymore. I was too young to be able to help around a barn so for the time being I had to give up my love of riding and my time with horses. That was until I turned 16 and I was able to start volunteering with horses.
When my parents split up and it sent me into a depression, I dreaded getting up every morning. That was until I started to look at places to volunteer with horses again. It all started one day when I was with my dad. The place that we found had over 40 horses that I would be volunteering with. For the first few weeks of volunteering I was only going once or twice a week that soon turned into 7 days a week! Most days of the week I was there from when the sun came up to way after the sun went down and I loved it.

He said to me “Find out how much and how we could get one here and we will see.” So I started to look on the internet for horses. It was my mission to find the exact horse that I wanted. There were a couple horses that I had liked but none of them were exactly what I was looking for and they didn’t seem like the right fit.
