Personal Narrative: A Trip Worth Remembering

Trip Worth Remembering? So it was winter break, a time which was supposed to be full of excitement and fun. My family and I went to Colorado. It was the first time I have ever been out of the state too! It was supposed to be an enjoyable experience, but it was absolutely terrible. Everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. This trip was different from the ones in the past, which usually meant going to San Antonio or taking the 8-hour-trip to see my grandparents. This time though, we would be leaving Texas. It was my first time and I was really excited about it. The sad thing was that my cousin would be coming with us. I decided what I would do was to go ahead a not let her bother me. We’ve had a bad history together, …show more content…
She isn't. We left for Colorado at around 5 in the morning and we were all exhausted from the late night before. We piled our stuff in the car and squeezed ourselves inside. I was super tired and just wanted to go straight to bed while we were on the road. We were all cozy in the car and I'm about to fall asleep when suddenly, my cousin’s legs stretch obnoxiously in front of my face. My cousin thought it would be a good idea to sprawl her whole body across the two seats while she was sleeping. Every time I would push her legs off of me, her legs would wander back to where I was. The whole sleeping part of the road trip was the worst, especially because I love my sleep.
Later on, we stopped at a gas station for drinks and snacks. My cousin and I saw some SMART water in the store and came to realize that this special water was only for the best of the best, which was us. We quickly grabbed one each, along with our snacks. It seemed like such a great thing to get.
We had been on the road for forever and we're almost out of Texas, when I suddenly got this urgent need to use the bathroom. That water was too much. I told my cousin and she said she also had to use the bathroom, but didn't say anything because she thought she was the only one. We both let my dad and step mom know, and my step mom sarcastically said, “Well that was very ‘SMART’ of you.” We had to wait until we found a stopping place to relieve

Twenty-two years ago on January 4th, 1994, Taryn Staley was up at Finny Cumberlane to celebrate Gary’s, Taryn’s brother, fifteenth birthday. It was her mom, her step dad, her friend (Amy), Gary, her mom’s friend, four or five of Gary’s friends, and herself who traveled up the Finny Cumberlane mountain side. Their day was spent playing in the snow and snowboarding on the small, snow-capped mountain, but the day took a turn for the worse on their way home. “At 10:00 AM everyone met at our house in Burlington with their snowboarding gear, extra clothes, etc. We also loaded up a camp stove, pans, cups, cocoa and a pot of chile with freetos dip chips for lunch.…

One cold and dreary day in January, I got home from an uneventful day at school. I never would have guessed what was about to happen or thought that this would ever happen to me. I was just a quiet freshman in high school. My father sat down with my family and told us that we were about to move to Texas. I was both shocked and a little excited to move because I’ve always wanted to go south.…

Jealousy is just another part of everyday life. As shown in Bobbie Ann Mason 's "Being Country", the story just shows that it 's normal to be envious of others and just look at positive things in their lives while ignoring the negative things. Instead of always looking at the positive side, we as humans like to generate an unreasonable conclusion from what 's bad in our lives to what 's good in someone else 's.…
