It was like a scene out of a movie, It felt like a high, I was on top of the world. For a team that won a championship and As a guy who didn’t know the difference of hitting a ball or bumping it a certain way my amazing and hilarious team and I have come a very long way. I was originally cut from the team despite my intense determination I ran my heart out I studied all three nights of those tryouts and asked numerous questions to make sure I got everything I needed to make it. Then the day came, It was a cold morning quite early, and the coach said he would post cuts early morning. It might have been the earliest I had ever been in school. Teachers were coming in school except my coach. I grew tired, restless, and extremely nervous as …show more content…
I wanted longer practices but that annoying security guard use to rush us out the gym forcing less time to practice. We did good not amazing but above average for a team record. We were still very confident some even called us cocky but I called confidence. Season flew by and then the real adventure started playoffs 1 strike and you are gone. We breezed through the playoffs and easily made it to the final round the “Chip Game” as we called it. It was incredible to watch it was like a scene straight from a movie. The first set we went back and forth and ultimately they got the best of us by a long shot towards the end. Second set it was a fight till death they wanted to end the game there we wanted to survive. They got ahead by a lot we thought it was over our talent was wasted. Then we worked hard we went on a run and came back and then got the final ace to win the set. it was the comeback of the year, last set the one that determines our future remember as the almost who made it or the group who brought the first championship to Metro Campus. It was a fight like no other I never see our team want something so bad that they fought as if they were fighting to breath. Again we were down, again in the same position of almost losing, again talent failed us, and again we worked hard and

The court was quiet, we lacked motivation but maintained a lead for most of the match but only by a point or two. It felt like we put in as much energy as needed to pull off a win. But with that said, we still had some great moments in the court. Claire Caldera and Allie Eveleth have gotten stronger in their attacks. Janae Roberson has begun to be a forceful blocker in the middle and our setters, Grace and Julian, continue to push our offense to be better with each match.…

Therefore, this was a team of small freshmen and sophomores playing against mostly juniors and seniors at the varsity level in one of the most talented high school conferences in the state. We finished the season 1-15, most of which were pretty tough losses but we worked hard and left it all on the field every game and that in the end is all that matters. The most prevalent memory was after the last game all the players were pretty upset about how it went but our coach ended our last huddle with, “We came into this season knowing it would be challenging and we worked hard from start to finish and I think we ended this season better than we started, which means that next year is gonna be a pretty good…

It was springtime during the year of 2012, I was just about to start my summer. I was looking on the internet for sports to do in Kaneland, because I wanted to compete at a higher level. But I was not always comfortable with playing on a travel baseball team, but I knew this could be a great opportunity for me, so I took a risk and after all it, payed off. I asked “Dad would you think I would be able to compete and play on the travel baseball team” He smiled “Yes, but one thing I learned when I was young and playing baseball is; it is a game of mistakes, and the only way you can succeed is if you practice over and over to improve.”…

I walked into Neil Armstrong Middle School's gym, nervous as can be, not ready for basketball tryouts. The only reason I was there was because my dad and sister wanted me to play. I also wanted to play a sport this year, but I didn't think it would be basketball. It was so loud it sounded like someone was yelling in my ear and playing music at the same time. We started doing lay-up drills, I missed so many compared to the other girls.…
