The Things I’ve Learned From the first day of kindergarten we begin to learn all about the world around us. For instance, we begin to learn what behaviors are socially acceptable, and get in trouble for what is not. We learn how to interact with people our own age, and how to maintain conversations. On top of that we are taught all sorts of academic subjects such as; math, spelling, reading, science, and so much more. To think that we learn all of this in one year is astounding, but then we realize that every year to follow is filled with just as much, if not more. The first time I learned how to work and coordinate with others was in seventh grade with Mrs. Berman. She was a fantastic science teacher who was teaching us all about the parts …show more content…
What makes it most memorable is the circumstances about how it all came to be. Approximately a month before graduation, my good friend Owen and I were called into the principal 's office. On the way down, we asked each other if we had done anything wrong, as we could not think of anything, we were just left confuzzled. The disappointment vanished as she told us that we had to prepare and deliver a speech together. There is nothing I hold in higher esteem than that memory of both of us standing up there and talking to each other, not to the audience, but just enjoying ourselves for the sake of it. That was when I learned that no matter what I may achieve, it is nothing if I cannot share it with good …show more content…
Boy was I wrong. For the first time I had to bring homework home, I had to study for tests, and most shockingly, I had to put in effort in order to exceed in school. Now this may see extremely egocentric, but the simple truth is, school was not a challenge until this year. So far, I have been taught about different rhetorical strategies, many physics equations, and the various systems of the body, but none of that is important in the long run. What is important is what I have learned this year. I have learned to manage my time through excessive amounts of homework. I have learned how to deal with seemingly crippling amounts of stress. Most importantly, I have learned that in order to succeed, you must be willing to put in

My kindergarten year came, and this was the year I began to learn the basics of reading and writing; for instance, I started to understand and use language to express my ideas, feelings, and to communicate with others. This was the year where I had started to learn reading and writing from everything that goes on around me, whether it 's story time, show and tell, recess, or even snack time. Learning the beginning concepts of both reading and writing were accomplished by learning how to print my name, print letters and the alphabet, and just reading and seeing words at home, classrooms, and on signs. All of these small skills I had developed gradually increased…
