I wake up as soon I heard my alarm went off, I raise my body facing the wall with a movie poster in front of my bed, I begin to stretch my arm high as I can, my medium long hair fall in front of my face blocking my vision, I pull back my hair and tied it into a short ponytail.

The early light fill my entire room from my left side as I open the curtain, it a beautiful morning and I probably need to hurry, Lina is probably waiting for me at her house, I get out from my bed quickly and head to the bathroom.

As I exit my room and walk down a short hallway, I look to my right side of the wall of the hallway is filled with a picture of my parents, my uncle and me. I miss them so much every day but the living need to continue and we can only pray for them who have passed away.

Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

thought of you seeing and be with your loved one who is dying or suffering from immense pain is unbearable. If you could end your loved ones ongoing pain and suffering would you do it if they wanted you to? The movie I have recently watched called “You Don’t Know Jack” was about a retired Michigan pathologist named Jack Kevorkian who became interested in the study of euthanasia and its use to help the terribly diseased and suffering. In the beginning Jack saw a man who was supposedly being held alive against his will because he wanted to die. Jack saw this and decided to build a machine that would assist those that were suffering and deathly diseased die.…

Setting three different alarms, placing my waiver near the front door, wearing my thick cotton pants, hoodie, and socks, I would then lie fast asleep in bed. Waking up to the nettlesome sounds of my alarms ringing in my ears, rubbing the sand from my eyes, walking to the bathroom, I instinctively move both of my arms to cover my eyes from the shining bulbs that illuminate the bathroom. As I get ready for the morning, the sun is still shining on the other side of the world and everyone is still fast asleep. I quietly creep into my parents bedroom and with a nudge, my father hastily gets up and prepares to drive me to the service event. When I arrived at the service event, my club officer did a roll call and then we were set to go inside of the warehouse.…

As I wake up to the blinding, beating, scorching sun on my face I hear the clashing of plates and a distant yet familiar rhythm coming from what I assume is the kitchen. I groggily attempt to grab my phone to check the time when I clumsily slam my phone onto the floor. Scrambling out of bed I pick up my phone only to figure out it’s 9:17 in the morning. I sneakingly walk to the kitchen barefooted to see what all the commotion is when my mother quickly catches my not so sneaky footsteps and yells at me to put some shoes on and get to cleaning. Immediately running to my room, jumping into bed covering myself from the responsibilities of having to clean the house my mother yanks the sheets off, drags me out of bed and there goes the rest of my Saturday morning.…

I live constantly on edge, an explosive always ready to blow, rarely comfortable in any situation, except the little bridge world of my Den. My wanderlust heart might hate being confined, but swaddled down the little gap between the wall and couch on the livingroom floor isn’t constraining, it’s safe. Barely enough room to curl up, dark under the blanket roof, and messy from weeks spent sleeping and working there, it looks more like a second-grader’s pillow fort than a teenager’s refuge from a stressful reality. I built it a few weeks ago on a whim; hauled the old white couch away from the wall and lined the new crevice with throw pillows and a soft blanket, topped with a cover to keep away prying eyes. I haven’t slept in my own bed since…

My family and I still didn’t accept that fact that she was gone forever, it seemed like another day for us like if she was at her house preparing food for her children or cleaning her house. As we arrived to church, that’s when it really hit me that she was gone and I started feeling a weird feeling inside my stomach since I was really nervous of having to see her inside that coffin. Walking towards her coffin was really hard for me since it’s a very sad and hurtful experience that no one like to go through. I started to tear down as soon as I saw her 3 children cry for her. I gave them my condolences and let them know that we had to be strong and realize that know she was in heaven resting in…
