Personal Narrative Essay: The Story Of Dry Sandra Pollock

Improved Essays
Where would you like me to start Brittany Sandra Pollock? Yes, I am going to use your full name in this. You may ask why? I have always loved something about a full name and it 's a little hard to explain. I guess I will start with me leaving Omaha for California this summer. But I will really go back even further after I explain something. When you and I were driving to the airport that day, I could tell that you were ready to explode in tears, but honestly, I was on the verge too and I don 't like to admit things like that very often. Obviously, after I opened your first letter in the airplane is when I broke down. Okay that 's enough sadness for me. I truly can 't believe how fast summer has been going by and for some reason I feel …show more content…
I remember the night when you were coming back from what I later found out was the Blue Crew party and I was just going out. I am walking out of Kiewit and all of a sudden this very cute girl told me I had beautiful eyes! What! That does not happen very often to me or even ever. All I could say was Thank You! For the rest of the night when I was out, all I could think about was who this girl was and I knew that I had to take control and know this person. Luckily, I had one friend on the 9th floor and he told me her name was Brittany Pollock. I remember seeing her at Mass with some people and I thought maybe I should ask her to attend with me. For some reason she said yes and I thought well perfect because now I don 't need to go by myself anymore. Now I am going to move forward to the beginning of the second semester and I already knew that you were someone who I had to be with and I think you thought that too and so me being new to everything about girls(Not kidding), I thought, well let me wait until the end of this month to ask you to be my girlfriend.. For that whole month, I thought, well I want to be original and do something that Brittany would never expect. When the time came, I was more nervous than I ever …show more content…
I told my mom, of course I will!!! I am not sure whether or not she believed me, but I knew that I would do my best. Now that I have you, I could not ask for it any other way. After meeting your parents, I thought wow they are super relaxed and funny! I then thought of my parents, but of course, yours are much more flamboyant. You have this small family that is so much different to me. When I first met Seth, I thought that he needs another guy to shoot basketball with in your front yard. The same goes for Gavin. He needed someone to play and that is why I tried playing with him at your Grandpa 's house. Sorry if you think this is all cheesy and stuff, but I would so be a kid again and play with Gavin. Your family though is lot 's of fun and I thank you for bringing me over sometimes because you let me relax and meet your entire family which of course is only 14 people? Maybe a few

Nikail Janet-Rose Francis is who I am. A young African-American by appearance but little does society know that the melanin in my skin represents more then just the "black community". Think about the typical 80's "coming of age" movie set in high school. It opens by introducing the audience to the main character, usually not the most handsome, most popular or athletic teenager. He sees the most beautiful girl in the school and wishes he could be with her. Long story short, he gets the girl, loses the girl and some friends, gets friends back after much ridicule, and rides into the sunset with the girl. Well that’s how my story goes… sort of.…

In the discombobulation of day to day life, all types of people are going to try to knock you down. This hardship was experienced personally by Brenda Roza as she realized that “there may not be that person next to you that's going to speak up for you”. There is no reason for strangers being malicious, to try to knock other people down when they’re not even known to you. Regardless, it is imperative that you are able to defend yourself- just as Brenda Roza did. Having been told throughout her entire life that she couldn’t do certain things, Brenda thought that that being a successful person might be beyond reach to her - impossible.…

“Y’all come back again real soon” reached my ears as I jumped into the car to travel back to my home in Florida. For the last several days, my Aunt Sarah had hosted me in her charming South Carolina home. As the house grew smaller and smaller in my rearview mirror, I recollected her welcoming, generous spirit. Each morning, my aunt would awake before dusk to put together a delicious breakfast of egg casserole, cheese grits, country ham, homemade biscuits with lingonberry jam and a side of ambrosia. Later, each night she would escort me to my well-appointed bedroom, where I could snuggle into a soft, down-filled comforter on my lovely, antique bed.…

Service Learning Project For my Service Learning Project, I decided to interview a woman by the name of Mrs. Hawkes. Mrs. Hawkes is a lady that I have been working on and off with in the military for the past four and a half years. For this project, we sat down after work one day to discuss basically anything that came to mind such as where she is from, her religious views, family, etc. The main reasons I decided to interview Mrs. Hawkes is the high level of respect I have for her and she is probably the most religious person that I am around an a normal basis. I thought interviewing her was a great opportunity to personally get to k now someone that has different beliefs and opinions than myself.…
