The stage has speakers, microphones, drums, turntables guitars and so forth situated on it. As we all waited patiently in the rain for what seemed forever they finally began to check tickets and let people funnel into the back.…

Surrounded by a team of nurses, one doctor, and what seemed to be a grouping of blinding lights, I had a peculiar moment of serenity. I can’t quite explain whether it was the epidural or the fact that for twelve hours my body was engulfed by excruciatingly painful contractions which seemed to be attacking me in a sporadic manner, but in that one moment everything was perfect. Somehow I just let go off every single fear I had, I just remembered that in any moment there would be an extraordinary occurrence. Although a natural part in many women’s lives, since the beginning of time, it was a phenomenon in my life.…

Three years later she had another girl and two years later she had another one. Being the oldest of the siblings is bittersweet, I couldn’t make mistakes or do something wrong because kids do what they see, when a baby mumbles its first words it’s not because it just popped into his head, the baby has been hearing the word and they are just repeating. That is why I always read, whenever I had the chance I would read with my sisters and I would teach them everything about reading. Parents just expect more from us and it’s not simple. To me, the toughest part of being the oldest one was how much I am expected to do.…
