The Sinking Children of Bath

It all started in January 21st, 1977. This date would be forever remembered in Bath as the most horrid day that has arised. In the beginning it was a normal day of waking up and eating cereal, grabbing the milk, and seeing the missing children advertisements on the back of the milk carton. By now there weren’t a lot of little kids being seized off their property during the day, Day by day we were seeing more children being reunited with their petrified families. It scares me how scary it would be to get kidnapped. The number of children being kidnapped was dropping lower and lower each month. Everyone in Bath thought they were safe and that they could leave their doors unlocked. They all thought that it was safe

I finally arrive at the gateway. I open the door and slowly close it, trying not to wake the neighbors. As I get inside I take my jacket off, pulling my black hair from my hat and walk into to see my cat, Soap, purring, as she waits for my arrival. I sitting awaiting the next phone call from the police looking for my help on another case. Soap is my best friend she might be a cat but she does have a lot more intelligence than most people here in Bath. Now that I have been living here in Bath for a few years I have learned you have to adapt to the people who live here and their freakishly weird names.
My phone starts to ring just as I sit down. At this time of the day and part of the year this isn't family calling or friends. This is the police looking for help on a case. I picked up the phone to be told that there has been a series of murders of children in a certain area. As soon as I got done writing down the address, I started to pull my coat on and and shoes. Grabbing my keys and walking out the door.
I pulled up to the scene seeing the usual family crying , others trying to comfort them telling them that it’ll be okay not to worry, that the police will find who killed their loved ones. They never believe the things they say to

“A leader has to watch every word he or she says and quickly learns that you can’t go through life without a few critics, some well deserved” (pg. 5), this quote as some of the beginning words from MacDonald truly shows that a leader has responsibilities to uphold to. I found it interesting that he showed these responsibilities are not only external, but internal as well. Many do not realize the internal battles that leaders in ministry go through, and in order for leaders to handle a situation in a mature manner; they must uphold to the responsibilities of character they are expected to maintain. There are many internal and external expectations of leaders that are specified in Building Below the Waterline, but only some really stood out to me as factors that I would practice more than others in my leadership positions.…

The Crevasse “Adversity is the source of our deepest growth and greatest blessings; embrace it, dare to seek It,” that was a quote from Aron Ralston, who fell down a crevasse and his arm was wedged under a rock, which inspired the movie “127 Hours.” One day I was going to the creek with my friends, Matthew and Kendal, to hang out. We had this amazing spot that had a bridge that we made and everything. We were bringing further supplies to add on to the spot and make it look more visually appealing. When we arrived at the park we brought all of the supplies down under a bridge.…

When I was young in Mastic Beach, we spent Saturday mornings on the porch eating pancakes made by mom and naming all the birds that flew by. When I was young in Mastic Beach, the scent of paint lingered on dads clothes as he taught me how to make the images in my head appear on the canvas in front of me. The clay he brought home already sculpted into figures and applauded no matter how unrecognizable they actually were. My ears tune into the dissonant voices surrounding me slowing interpreting the lack of passion already evident to my teacher. Subconsciously, my eyes and head slowly move downwards trying to shield themselves from the wave of indifference flooding my class. The Wife of Bath Tale can be connected to life today and teaches a message that is universal, no matter the time period that everyone should learn. During the tale, a knight rapes a women and is given a quest in order to keep him from being beheaded. After reading, it's easy to think that he should be punished to the full extent, since society today has no tolerance for those types of crimes. That statement is true however, every so often you have cases like Brock Turner who get let off easy for a despicable crime such as sexual assault. Most people would justify the knight not being killed because back then during the late 1300s women didn't have nearly the amount of rights as they do today but there are still cases today where women still…
