Personal Narrative Essay: The Resistance

The Resistance There that man is again. Everyday I go for my morning walk and everyday I see that man. The same tall, skinny, noticeably hungry man, but this time was different. This time I saw his eyes. They were the type of eyes that would make you cry as you stare in the depressed soul within him. This is when I decided to help. I looked around to make sure no one was looking and went up to him. He was surprised that anyone would say hello from the other side. I asked him if I could help in any way. That is when he told me the plan. He told me they were planning an uprising against the Nazis, and that him and a couple of people within the ghetto started planning around a month ago. He then told me that they needed guns and parts for bombs. …show more content…
At around midnight, one of the guards starts walking around the ghetto to make sure none of the people escape. Then I grabbed a pretty big and solid rock and snuck up behind him. A rock to the temple was sure to knock him out and it did. I threw the rock over the fence to tell them the guard was out. Nearing the ammo three mysterious men showed up and before we knew it we lost two men. Couple of minutes later we killed the what we now realized were Nazi soldiers, but now we were down eight. With only twelve of us left we realized we did not have much time left. Eight of us grabbed all we can while the other four grabbed assault rifles and decided to protect us on our way out. Hoping no alarm was sounded off, we quickly rushed out. We were quick on our feet to the little hole they dug under the fence. They were gone as quick as they came while i just went on my patio and told the Nazi guards they went the other

Neighbors, written by Jan Gross, is a book telling a different side of the Holocaust. Most times when people think of the Holocaust, they believe it just had to do with Germans killing Jews in Concentration Camps. However, there is another side to the story, one that starts on a summer day in a town called Jedwabne. This time it is different because it is not the Germans killing the Jews, it is the Poles. Jan Gross mentions many different sources throughout the book to prove what happened; however, the question still remains if these so called sources can be trusted.…
