Pain on November 25
By: Piper Bailey This is the worst time ever. I can not even remember the last time my head hurt like this. I’m awake all day, and I never get any rest. My life is hard, my job never ends, and my kids are always super hyper. Kids are pure torture. All they do is complain to Mrs. Wham and I about how we are crushing them. It is not our fault that we are round. Every weekend is the hardest. People just storm into my home and walk around taking things left and right. Last week for example, this creature thing walked right by my family and I, and took my eldest child. My wife and I screamed and hollered, but this creature acted like they didn’t hear us. “My baby! That is my baby!” Mrs. Wham cried in horror as the creature,

Mommy help!” our little boy exclaimed.
I tried to calm the other children, but soon the other creatures here started coming into my house and taking my children. Now I have had enough. My family and I formed a single file line. I was first and my kids were behind my wife and I. This way they would take us and not them. As soon as we were ready giant clammy limbs took me away. My family screamed in horror, I wiggled and squirmed trying to get away. With my last bit of strength, I jumped from this creature’s grip. Plop! Plop! Plop!
I was loosing air trying to catch my breath. Soon, I found myself in a new neighborhood. Everything here was pink, and all of these people were staring down at me.
Weakly I asked them, “Where am

Confused, I looked around. Creatures were everywhere. To my left was a creature picking her nose.
“Ew! I would have thought these creatures would have the decency to use their manners. At least I know my kids would never do that,” I thought aloud.
On my right, this creature’s child was screaming its head off.
“ I WANT A TOY!” it screamed.
“I hope this creature gets help,” I thought to myself
A ginormous creature exclaimed, “Oh! Look Mummy there’s something down there.” I looked around somehow I was the only thing in sight. All of the sudden I was in the air. Angrily I shouted, “NOT AGAIN!”
“Oh look he’s out of breath I don’t want him.” The creature stated with disappointment.
“Him.” Who knew the way someone speaks could make someone feel so horrible about themselves. What came next made me very mad. So mad, that I might have exploded.
“Mom, can I run over and grab another one?” The little creature asked. “That pink one, looks really pretty. It would fit my collection.”
“Hurry up. I don’t have all day, my spa appointment is at 4. Then I have to get my hair done. Also, Amelia, don’t forget you have your friend Veronica is coming over at 6:30.” The creature’s mom said.
“No! No! No! You can’t, that’s my wife! Please spare my family.” I

As a lonely pez container, at a local Dollar Tree, I wish someone would buy and take care of me versus being in a plastic box, for eternity. Did I mention i’m claustrophobic! Well, I was watching the crowd walking through the local shop, back and forth throughout the day, until I spotted a little boy staring at me, with glimmering eyes. “Mommy, mommy, the boy said with excitement,” Can I get this toy, please?” “Yes, but if you do this will be the only toy you get for the week, Ok.”…

Louis was almost too fixated to notice that Harry had sat down on his mattress opposite Louis. The green eyed lad just sat there for a moment, every now and again his mouth opening, then shutting again as if trying to spit out the words which were obviously on the tip of his tongue. “Do you want to talk about what happened? I’ve heard that talking through things makes it better, we could try that?”…

Turkle states that children learn to shift from a psychology of projection to engagement with their Furbies because they understand that, “You have to continually assess your Furby’s ‘emotional’ and ‘physical’ state” (Turkle, 470). Children come to see more than just the physical toy characteristics of the Furby because the Furby makes it seem that it requires the care of the children for its advancement. Since children view these dynamic characteristics of the Furby as those of a living being, they form the misconception that the Furby is in fact a living thing. Turkle talks about her studies on the interactions children have with Furbies as Daisy, a child in her study, says “‘You have to teach it; when you buy it, that is your job. It’s alive, I teach it about whales; it loves me.’”…

Home is where the heart is. It doesn’t necessarily mean the home provides the best shelter for someone, nor the best experiences, and in my case, it definitely doesn’t. Home was in Hernando county Florida. When I lived there, I only got up to middle school and part of the way through eighth grade before my move to Tennessee. The difference between Tennessee in Florida isn 't just that everyone here would get beat to death for their blatant racism, but the fact that there is much less diversity in Tennessee.…
