Personal Narrative Essay: The Oppression Of Cats

So here’s the deal; I really have an aversion to cats. I mean, what is the point in them? They have very few purposes and are no match for dogs who are so gentle, friendly and will be your best friend.

I have so many things against cats and I truly don’t know why. I just feel like they are delving into your soul and that’s why they try to pester you so much. For example (true story) recently a black cat with bright emerald green eyes jumped onto the garage roof by my window and watched me solidly for 5 minutes. I’m trying to get on with my daily tasks but the cat was glaring at me as if it was reading my mind, silently judging me. I just do not understand a cat’s logic; what are their thoughts when they stare at you? Maybe they are more intelligent than we think. Who knows?

This doesn’t apply to tigers or other exotic cats, just domestic cats. They simply drool at your feet whilst dogs and other animals become close to you. 19% of UK households own a cat, which is quite a large amount, and what surprises me most is how only 25% of UK households have a dog! I would’ve thought many more people would own a dog because they really are a mans best friend! You get to care a lot more for other animals instead of having a cat. They wander around town and you have no clue where they are or what they are doing.
