Personal Narrative Essay: The NCA Swimming Competition

I woke up at 4:30 in the morning for the NCA swimming competition. It was the 2nd biggest tournament in the us for youth swimmers. If I place in the top 5 I can go to nationals which is in New Mexico.

I slipped on my navy blue swimsuit and pulled my long brown hair, snapped on my blue swim cap. I jumped in the car and there I was on the way to the NCAA tournament. When we were driving I was so nervous i did not make one single peep.

I looked up after feeling the car slow down and realized we had arrived when we got there I went right too my coach. I had too place in the top 5 in order to continue. I was super worried because I had to perform the backstroke and the butterfly, and in practice I not been well doing either of those. When they

    After going to these few days of practice, I learned how to do a front jump (forward jump and dive), back jump (backwards dive), and approach (3 steps to the diving board). However, before even starting to dive, I had to face my fear of the fact that I was falling into a pool, whether it be forward or backwards. We tried one technique to get us use to going into the pool backwards; we were to lay head first on top of a folded up tumbling mat, then extend our arms out straight and hold them together at the fingertips as if we were diving in already.
