The Minnesota Wild Game
It was the morning of Christmas and all through the house wrapping paper was flying everywhere. It was the Christmas of 2015. “Everyone” woke up, by that I mean my brothers woke everyone up. With all the gifts open we had only one gift left and it was from Mom and Dad to all of us. We opened it and we were so excited. Were going to the Wild Game! My brother Tanner was yelling out of control. We were all done with our presents we had one left it was from Mom and Dad. It was a box the size of my little brother Jordan. We started to open it and there was a smaller box inside and a smaller one inside the next and the next and it went on and on until there was a box the size of an envelope. We opened it and it said five tickets to the Minnesota Wild game on December 26, 2015. My brothers Tanner and Jordan were super excited about the tickets. They asked 20 Questions. My Mom and Dad told them we are leaving early tomorrow morning. We were all very excited about going but first we had to go to Christmas at my grandma Kallock’s house. A soon as we got back we started to pack our bags and the car. It’s 6:00 am and we are on our way to the Cities. The roads were getting worse on the way there. We counted 5 cars in the ditch in 1 mile. A siemi had went in the ditch and spun around. With all of these traffic problems it took us an extra 2

We were happy to be going home, we wanted to go and play with all of our christmas presents. The trip home took for ever and ever. We got back home like at 6:00 pm. Our dog Mario was so happy to see us. We had been across the state and back in less than 24 hours. My brothers we decked out in there wild stuff. My parents said today we are doing nothing no friends just stay at home, kick back and relax. So you could say this is one of the best christmas presents ever. I will never forget this christmas any time

Honestly, I’ll come right out and admit that I have never been the Detroit Lion’s number one fan, or any football fan for that matter. Sure, I had technically gone to each of the homecoming games both years in high school, but only for the sole excuse of being able to put some red war paint on my face and attempt to catch up with some friends. The only exposure I had to the sport was walking through the doors of Phase Three during cross country season. Day after day, I was forced to push through groups of teenage guys reeking with a putrid stench of dried sweat, rotting eggs, and grass stains; the smell in itself was enough to make my eyes water.…

I started playing baseball when I was 7 years old and at that time I was actually playing T-Ball. For awhile I played baseball for a place called Twin City. While I was at Twin City I had mostly played the second base position. Twin City was an alright organization because they didn't have players with the best attitudes. Those players with not so good attitudes affected our teams ability to win.…

The school had just gone off for winter break. I was excited to be free of homework for two weeks I thought to myself. As days past I would just relax by sleeping in more than I would usually and play video games with some friends and my cousins. Then Christmas came out of nowhere and I got to see relatives that I haven't seen for in years at my grandma's house that had been decorated with big old-fashioned Christmas lights.…

Fear not your best friend fear Eagerly waiting for the sound of the final bell ending the game, I limped back to the locker room ashamed of failing my teammates once again. With my jersey drooping below my knees, I dreaded every second of ice time starring at a swarming pool of merciless giants. Receiving the puck gave you the opportunity to score, but for me it meant running into a wall. Running into other players sent me flying through the air before gasping for air and landing dazed on the verge of unconsciousness. The condemnation of failing to contribute to my team or participating in the physical aspect of hockey reminded me I was in a dark world of self-loathing because I couldn't accept this fact.…

I’ve been playing the incredible sport of Ice Hockey for over 10 years now. Although it has become steadily easier, and more about sharpening skills than developing them, in the beginning it was extremely difficult. The progress I have made since when I first began playing is immeasurable. I have come as far as I have in hockey through all the years of support from my father, because he’s always been happy to watch me play competitively.…

I recall the day so clearly, impatiently waiting in the doctor’s office. Nothing was wrong with me; I was supposed to be at the rink for hockey practice or so I thought. Instead I was waiting to be called into a room. Little did I know I was about to hear those three dreaded words, the words no person ever wants to hear ‘You have cancer’. Everything around me stopped for a brief second while I sat trying to comprehend what was happening.…

The way my topic represents heritage is about how of my family use different ways to celebrate holidays When I was little would go over to my grandmother house every year for every holiday. Before thanksgiving day my grandmother would call everyone’s household and tell them what dishes and they would have to cook. She would say that the dishes would need to be done by a certain amount of time; because we would always try to eat at the same time. For my household, it was mostly cupcakes because they family would make a joke about my mother’s meat cooking.…
