Memories of my truck
I’ve had tons of interesting and stressful experiences with my truck. I first got my truck when I was 15 years old. It is a 05 Toyota tundra. The memories I’m going to write about will be the memories of my truck breaking down. My truck was in need of a new water pump so one day me and my mechanic went to his shop with my truck to put the new one on. First we put the truck on the lift and popped the head and began taking out the radiator and drained all the coolant from the radiator. Then we had to take of the fan and the timing covers off to get to the water pump. Once we got to the water pump we removed it and put the new one on. Then my mechanic and I finished putting all the parts to my truck back together. After that

We sat there the rest of the day trying to figure out why and could not figure it out so I left the truck at the shop for my mechanic to figure out what was wrong. Two days later he gave my mom a call and told her my ECM was blown so of course we ordered a new that day. When the new one came in we programed it to my truck and put it in and it working the truck was running again. After we did that I realized that the throttle response of my truck was horrible and I could put the gas petal to the floor sometimes and nothing would happen. So I called my mom immediately to tell her what was happening and she told I was crazy and that I always think something is wrong with truck. So I just let it go and about a week later my truck cut off while I was driving it so I pulled over and tried restarting it lots of times but it would not turn over. Then I waited about five minutes and tried again and it started so I called my mom and told her what had happened. After that I took my truck to my house and it cut off again in the yard. So I my mom called my mechanic to come over and check out my truck and he found that another ECM has been blown and that he told us that my sound system in my truck was dropping my voltage to low on my truck and that was what was causing my

After five hours under Mrs. Gonzalez’s 1997 Plymouth, my hands were so dirty I had to wash them ten times just to see my fingernails again. She was a familiar face around the shop, given that neighborhood thieves had routinely targeted her car. This time, though, they had gone too far. Someone had crawled underneath the car and cut out the valuable catalytic converter, and she couldn’t afford a replacement. When I looked at her and said, “That’ll be $563,” her face turned pale.…

Tulving’s persuasive theory of the two propositional memory types: Episodic and Semantic, have been pivotal in the research and study of Long-Term Memory for over four decades (Brown, Creswell, & Ryan, 2016). Semantic memory provides us with the memory needed for the use of language, whereas episodic memory focuses on the autobiographical events that can be explicitly recalled. There are many differences in these two memory sub-types that further differentiate them from one another. In addition to the differences between these two declarative memory types, we will also discuss the evidence for the distinction between episodic and semantic memory, both behaviorally and with the brain. Episodic memory is a type of memory that is associated…

But a few months later after my trip to the mechanic my truck began to experience the same symptoms as the time before, but this time instead of my truck not shifting from second to third it wasn’t shifting from first to second. This scared me at first with me thinking that the mechanic did not fix what was actually broken and now it could possible there might be another expense to add to my truck. It turned out to be the same thing that happened last time and the only reason why the washer broke this time was because it had not been heat treated, which caused it to break once again.…

Being part of the generation who grew up watching Fast and the Furious films has always made me want to drive a car. At that time I knew I still had a while before I could drive, but any chance I got to be in the driver seat I would. My first time I ever got behind the wheel was right after I watch the fast and the furious in 2001. It was during the summer, my mom was washing her car and according to her “I accidently locked myself inside and somehow I managed to turn the car on and started backing up the car.” My mom was so scared she started yelling “put the car on park” “put the car on park” but I had no clue what she meant.…

When one thinks of memory, they usually think of past events that happened or something that they had learned. Although one can recall certain memories, can they recall every single detail? This semester, we were asked to recall the events of a day that happened six weeks prior to the beginning of class. While some students could explain some details of what they had done that day, not all could be certain. Details may not seem to be that important when telling a story from a childhood experience or maybe the retelling of a joke, but what if a person was made to recall a memory that took place six weeks ago?…

Perception, attention, and memory are slippery subjects. Perception is the process of recognizing and interpreting sensory stimuli, which is everything taken in through sight, sound, smell, touch and taste (Matlin, 2012). Consequently, it is an imprint that is left in the mind. Attention is the concept that refers to how specific information is processed in the environment (Matlin, 2012).…

I looked up to my left and saw a guard rail with a river behind it, the car was heading towards it. My sister took control of the wheel and steered us the best she could towards the ditch. It was all green everywhere as the rear of the car hit the ditch first and spun us around, sending the front hitting the ditch as well. We spun around one more time, completing two 360’s. It might have been the wrong thought, but I was thinking about the airbags deploying at top speed, knocking us in the face, and injuring…
