The man & the child
The night was young as an encounter between an man and child changed their lives forever. They sat across each other on the train to Parama, the ghetto suburb just on the out skirts of the city. Both there eyes were scanning all around like a fish trying to find its way around the ocean, they looked pass each other through the window, trying to entertain their selfs for the duration of the journey, but all there was outside was just an empty landscape. There was no hostility, no remorse and the mood was lifted once again. They started chatting each other up, throwing in conversation starters like where are you from and how did you get hear, finally the conversation hits its peak and the waves of silence breaks in. Looking to break the silence the man begins to speak “ You are probably wondering how I lost my leg, it was an accident at work a self inflicted accident, I didn’t have money to get a plastic leg, so now I’am living with only one leg, its hard you know living with one leg, what about you? “Because my parents said I was not needed there anymore”

“Listen you always wanted at home, no matter what your parents said, you are the joy of their lives, go home refresh and talk to them, no child should be on the streets fending for himself”
“I get you but I feel like I’am just not needed at home anymore”
Back and fourth they go, the man trying to convince the child to go home and the child trying to convince the man that home isn’t the place to be. Their voices got louder and louder, like a pair of seagulls fighting over some chips.
“So what about you why don’t you just get compensation for that leg and get a new leg?”
“I am low on money and the compensation for a thing that I did already got paid to me and it was so little that I spend it on food for the week, look my life is already screwed because of this leg, you’re life just started and you need your parents support at your age so go home get rest and just talk to them.”
Again the conversation lights up, like fireworks they went back and forth, both thinking that they were right. Time rolled by and they must have talked for hours as the train kept rolling to
