The Magnificent Gift Looking around, all I see is a grey, colorless sky with no excitement to brighten my day. Lately, every day has been extremely gloomy, even when the sun was out and the sky was blue.
While walking to school, Joe points out that the air seems as dense as the blueberries we had at the crack of dawn when we awoke go shower at our neighbor’s house. Shortly after, I notice a bag in his hand. “Hey, Lily. I have something for you. You’ll like it.” Says Joe.
Oh no, I hope he didn’t go all out. I was under the impression that we agreed on no gifts! I wanted to surprise him. “Hello, Joe. What is it? I have something for you too.” I say, making it overwhelmingly obvious that i’m nervous by the way I fidget with my hair. “I needed to sale a few things, but I finally bought you the glass necklace case you’ve been wanting.” The necklace case is now sitting there, taunting me, like it knows what i’ve done with the necklace. “Oh, honey, this is beautiful! I love it. However, I believe that I have something to tell you.” Lily begins to walk over to retrieve the new, expensive outfit for Joe. “I bought you this brand new outfit along with some work boots. Though, I had no other choice but to sale the necklace to pay for it.” I sighed. Joe is going to be so disappointed that I sold the only truly expensive thing we own. “You just work so hard for us!
