Personal Narrative Essay: The Life Of Middle School

According to Zooey Deschanel, nothing can be as hard as middle school. I was a tremendous scaredy cat when I started middle school in 5th grade. My guts were flipping and flopping on that first day. Even though I didn’t know any teachers or friends, I made new friends and met new teachers. I had Mrs. Wherley as a homeroom teacher, she was nice as pie to me. I liked how we could move around to classes instead of staying in one class for the whole day. The first few days I felt like I was part of a cattle drive and I was a little cow.

The next year, I was now a 6th grader. I had Mr. Bayer as my homeroom teacher, he is so good-humored. I liked how he would dress frivolous, it would always make me laugh. That year we did not have a social studies

I was so glad I was a 7th grader because now I get to play sports and get 45 mins of PE! I ran cross-country, track and was the 7th and 8th grade volleyball manager that year. That year in cross-country, I wasn’t that fast. I kept on getting around 15-16 minutes in my races, but I did get on the varsity team a few times. Our team made it to sectionals, but we didn’t advance as a team. We were all very disappointed and a little sad. It was the end of the season for me. Even though we didn’t make it as a team, Alexi Fogo made it as an individual to the state meet, we were proud of her. In track I ran the 1 mile and the 4x400m relay. In the 1 mile you must run 4 laps around the track. My mile time was around 6:40. For the 4x400m relay we kept on getting around 5:00. I made it to the Sectional meet in both events. I did not make it to the state meet in the 1 mile, my time was 6:30. I was pretty excited, that was my fastest time that year. Although I didn’t go to state in the 1 mile, we tried in the 4x400m. Sadly, we didn’t go to the state meet. That year I also was the volleyball manager. My job was to help everyone on the team. We won regional round and then went to the state finals. We won the state finals for the 7th grade! The high school girls volleyball and the 7th grade volleyball team won their state championships! We were state champions in the same year, we were the lucky …show more content…
I am now in 8th grade. My homeroom teacher is Mr. Troutt. In 8th grade the teachers seem very hard, they are a lot different than 7th grade teachers. Since we are the “top dogs” of the school, we must be examples to all the kids in 5th, 6th, and 7th grade. I am in cross-country right now, I am the top runner right now on the varsity team. I hope I can get a little faster before the end of the year. We have a small team this year, only have 10 girls. I am planning to run track in the spring, but I hope I can do more events than just the 1 mile and the 4x400m relay. I am surprised how fast middle school has gone by. We are going to be in high school in less than a year! Now, just thinking about it, I am a little nervous. My guts are flipping and flopping if I think about it, just like 5th grade. I better just block it out, or better yet, I just need to find a time machine and skip some of

As I walked through the front doors of Allentown Central Catholic High School, I felt a sudden rush of panic. Everything I had once seen and had once been familiar with in middle school quickly vanished into thin air. I was terrified, not because I thought I was going to get lost, but because I knew that every little quiz I took, every little paper I wrote, and every exam I labored over would now count toward my ultimate goal of getting into a prestigious university. I wasn’t scared of new faces, but rather new beginnings and experiences.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

My first day of middle school was hell, I have always been good at school. My grades have never been bad and neither have my actions and or attendance. Probably from having a mom that is also a teacher. I look at that as a good thing though, watching kids just goof off and not come to school then high school rolled around and it was like I got to look down on them because they did not prepare for bigger and better things. School wasn't bad for me because it was hard, it was bad because i was always shy in school.…

I have never been so embarrassed before. We were in my seventh grade health class when our teacher told us that we are doing the FitnessGram Pacer Test. I blankly stared at him for a good minute then all of it fell upon me. My hearing was blocked, palms began to sweat, while unconsciously biting my nails and shaking my right leg. As my throat began to dry, adrenaline decided to take over my unsteady body.…

Freshman year of high school is scary for anyone, the enormous transition from being a top dog at middle school, back to an underclassman; wondering if your high school teachers will be as unforgiving as your 8th grade teacher’s descriptions, or even just that uncertainty that comes along with any major change. As a homeschooler entering school system for the first time, and having completely skipped 8th grade, it was terrifying. I had no idea what to expect, I worried about being behind the other students, or having missed something in my homeschooling curriculum, even interacting with other kids was all unfamiliar. It definitely didn’t help that, at 13, I was the youngest person in the building. Just two days into the school year, I discovered that P-AP world…

In the summer before my first year of middle school, my family and I packed our bags and relocated in central Ohio, an urban area that I grew up knowing but never understood much about. Moving from my hometown in the country was difficult for me since I’ve grown close and comfortable with my life there, and the thought of leaving it was frightening. Nevertheless, my stubborn opinions soon alternated once I started school in the fine suburban area called Dublin. I have heretofore never met such a group of warm, welcoming teachers and students. I formed friendships with numerous new peers in the first few weeks, and my group expanded significantly as the weeks progressed.…
