The Leap From Innocence
It was on a Wednesday and at this moment and time my friend “G” and I lost touch. I had no idea this would be the day everything came together. It was the end fourth period and me and my friend were talking and she told me about her and these girls were going to this abandoned place after school. She asked if I was coming, of course I was “G” was going to be there. There was a chance me and “G” could become friends again. Not only that I had also admired Brianna a lot, so I took this as a chance to fix everything.
I told Brianna “ I will have to see but, probably there was no reason I wouldn't be able to.”
That was a complete lie, I had appointments and my mom was working late after school. I texted my mom in the beginning

After we dropped our stuff off we started walking toward 6th street it took us about 25 minutes to get there. When we arrived on 6th street no one was there. Brianna and this girl named Reese was supposed to meet up with us. We waited 5 minutes and they still have not arrived. I was looking around and soon saw some figures in the distance. Fortunately enough, it was Brianna and Reese. Reese and I have never officially met but trusted Brianna’s and ‘G’’s opinion. We all hugged each other saying our well beings and Reese and I were talking to each other like we just met. After all our talking we started heading down to 7 eleven near the abandoned hospital. When we were passing through, we found money so we bought some slurpees and headed our way to the abandoned hospital. When we got there, we went around back to the lower window. It was amazing. It was the coolest thing I ever saw. Honestly, I found it beautiful. We stayed there for a while exploring the basement, 1st and 2nd floor. We were heading up to the 3rd floor, when ‘G’ stopped

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

Meanwhile, the yearbook staff, minus a few stragglers, were up bright and early ready for what would make an interesting distribution day. At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…
