Personal Narrative Essay: The Joy Of Figure Skating

Why!? Why I didn't start ice skating since when I was younger? I knew that I was into this sport and interested in spins and jumps. The moment that I experienced a love at first sight happened when I was in kindergarten. Before kindergarten, I wasn't really into any sports. In contrast, one day, I was watching the Olympics on TV with my family. I was watching women's figure skating session and all of the women athletes were practicing on ice. After the practice, face of every athlete changed into a serious face. Figure skating athletes took on the ice and performed artistic and beautiful solos. It felt like athletes were jumping like an angel and spinning like a ballerina. During that time, I felt the sense that figure skating athletes were feeling that time, which is the feeling of nervousness and happiness. Looking at TV made me feel like I was on the ice at the Olympic and skating in front of everyone. That is the moment I felt devoted at first sight. I knew that I will try this sport and become better at it. When I came to America, the first activity that I wanted to try was a figure skating, because it was the first sport that I fell in love with. I begged my mother to let me in the figure skating lesson, the reason is that my grandparents didn't agree with starting ice skate. You …show more content…
What I want to tell you is that if you love something whether it is a sport or any other activity, try it, keep doing it. Because it will make you more interested in that activity, and it will make you better at it. Also, even if people tells you that you are late to try this or you shouldn't try it, don't believe them and prove them wrong, because I was denied to start skating at first, but I kept doing it and I proved them that it doesn't matter when you start, it matters with how much you love that
