Personal Narrative Essay: The Influence Of Rap Music

ANECDOTE
A few weeks ago, school was cancelled due to the Northern California wildfires and my friends invited me to hangout. I would usually attend but the fact that it fell on a Thursday I had to respectfully decline. My friends understood that my Thursday nights are spent in my room with a pair of headphones (or speakers?) and my iPhone. BODY 1
I was raised in a family where music was played throughout the house often, but at a young age I didn’t think much of what I was listening to. I began to expand my views based on what my friends were listening to, but before that it was solely Rap. Once my friends assisted me in broadening my horizon, I began to sit in my room on every Thursday night and wait for 12:00pm ET when new music dropped each week. Regardless of genre, whether I know the artist, or if I have homework due the next day, I stay up until my iPhone dies and listen to the newest
