I was free to be imaginative for the first time in a year. I would act out scenes from the book in the small bedroom I shared with my cousin and sister and was finally able to do what I missed so much. After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

Six years ago, my family and community were devastated by the uncut strength of mother nature. Superstorm Sandy, the storm of the century, decimated a large part of the Northeast Coast. My home was lucky enough to be a raised ranch where the main part of our home was on the second floor. But because I live less than a mile from the ocean, we were slammed with twelve feet of storm surge. It was enough to flood my entire basement with six feet of saltwater and was just one step away from submerging the main floor of my home.…

When I was just a little girl, I loved reading fairy tales which brought me to many vicarious thrilling adventures, and when growing up, non-fiction books taught me how to become a good person. Besides that, reading has brought me to many various levels of emotions, such as joy, love, hate, fear, and sorrow. Some stories not only make me feel euphoric with happy endings, but they also make me feel despondent when a character’s deep sorrow touched my heart.…
