Essay On Moving Away

My dad had passed away seven months ago, and things just weren’t the same. My relationship with my mother was suffering; we were constantly at odds. Our issues could no longer be ignored, and had reached their breaking point. We had struggled with agreeing on what my priorities should be. I had felt it was my decision, but my mom saw that it was necessary for her to intervene. She began typing a contract, listing my priorities, ranging from, family, social life, and household duties. I was twenty at the time, and was not able to experience the freedom that I had desired. The greatest decision I ever made was moving out when I was twenty, because it gave me a sense of newfound freedom, and I also learned a lot. This has helped mold me into the person that I am today. This was something I didn’t anticipate on happening. It was May 20, 2012, when I made a decision that would change my life. It was a struggle in its self, but I have come quite far since then with my family. Despite the consequences, and time lost with my remaining family it has helped me take more responsibility, and become a more independent person. The wisdom I have gained through my whole experience gave me a different view on life and to not take anything for granted. A look in today almost 6 years later my mom and I are working on a stable, and stronger relationship than before. I currently did move from Maryland to Tennessee to be back with the family.
