The Gal of My Dreams The majority of modern day people believe that love at first sight is a myth. I was once among them, devastated from my last relationship crashing and burning. I had no faith in love, nor any women that I knew. I lacked positivity, but was great at hiding my deepened sadness. I tried telling myself over and over again that there were many fish in the sea, and if it was meant to be it would be. If I had expressed my feelings to someone who had not experienced the heartbreak that I had, they would have told me to move on with my life. However, this is not an essay on my past relationship, but the coming of a new one. My friends, although never really knowing my true feelings at the time were always there for me to count on. I was trying my hardest to enjoy the single life, and after a while it was quite fun. My mentality at the time was to focus on my studies, and my friends. I was skeptical at first. I knew I wanted to make it official, but I wanted to make sure it would be worth the heartbreak if things didn’t work out. We talked for two months after that, and she had remained loyal. My feelings for her had not yet waned, and I knew they never would. Obviously in the end things worked out, and her and I are still dating to this day. I love the generosity and kindness of spirit that she brings to my life that makes every day that much more enjoyable. Emotions are something that every human has. Heartbreak is among the worst, but in the end it makes you stronger, and gives you the opportunity to find the right girl for you. It came to me one evening while I was taking a walk with my gorgeous girlfriend. I looked over my shoulder and to the right, only to notice the sunkist orange sunset slowly disappearing over the horizon. I realized then at that moment, that I couldn’t be happier, and sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful

Above all things in life I believe we should value opportunity. It is what drives us to be better, inspires us to engage with others, and beyond all, forces us to apply ourselves in a way that ensures our ambitions don’t stay idealistic aims. In everything I do, I search for opportunities that are best fit for me, and help to ensure my overall success. This is why I am choosing to apply to Sarah Lawrence, I feel that the values the school holds align so closely with my own. As we all know: Relationships are hard. They are delicate, and require ample amounts of effort from both parties. I believe love at first sight is not possible. When a person thinks that they've fallen in love at first sight, they are just in love with the idea or image of the person. The first thing a person sees is the looks, you can't see their personality. They don't hold a sign with everything about them on it. In "Romeo and Juliet" the lovers believed they were so in love that they even died together.…

It is often said that teenagers begin discovering themselves in high school, but I did the opposite- I lost myself. The source of my pleasure and delight shifted from books to parties, writing to boys, and video-games to my social life. Something within me desperately craved to be normal- to no longer be the girl that gets harassed and ostracized for being an “appalling nerd” and because of this, vital aspects of my personality began to change and I morphed into an entirely different person. Through this journey, I learned that my self-hate was a catalyst for self-love and appreciation. Having always been considered an unusual girl in the eyes of my peers, I'd never been truly comfortable in my skin.…

Everyone has this idea that being asked on a first date is the scariest part, but in actuality, it is going on that first date that is scary. If the date goes well, then that leads to the second date, the third date, and sometimes more that. However, the first date, it seems to lay the groundwork for the future relationship, if there is one.…
