On September 7-8, 1921 I entered the first Miss America pageant is held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I felt like the cat’s meow, just having the chance take part in such a swell event. I couldn’t wait to tell my baby the news. When I saw him approaching the house I ran straight outside and necked him. He seemed happy for me, though not surprised because I always was a bit of a Sheba and a flapper. I assured him that id hit on all sixes and just continued giving him an earful of how excited I was. He smiled and handing me a ciggy to pipe me down as he began telling me how I’m such a keen doll I am; I’m so goofy with him.
As time went on we gathered everything I would need for such a nifty event. I got an orchid dress it was the real McCoy.
