Personal Narrative How My Senior Year Changed My Life

Good Essays
The summer of 2016 changed my life dramatically. It was the summer going into my senior year and I said to myself at the end of my junior year that I was going to have fun this summer and work on getting better at baseball. I also planned on getting a job and saving my money up to be able to not have to worry about money during my senior year. That outlook and dream changed when I went from being a free high school student with minor responsibilities to a part time parent. Changing dirty diapers isn 't was I had planned for my senior year. I went from only worrying about myself to worrying about a new born baby, named Parker, and taking care of his well being.
The first day I kept my nephew Parker was one day that I will never forget. It is

The onesie was a dark brown color with a white zippers and a monkey head on the butt. Then it was time to strap him into to the car seat and make sure he was in there tight so he couldn 't get out of it.

We were heading to grandma 's house for the day because she was going to teach me how to deal with a baby. We arrived at grandmas around 10:00 a.m, the sun was bright and the air was fresh I haven 't been up before noon since school let out about three weeks early. We walked into my grandma the smell of grease was thick in the air, grandpa had just finished cooking breakfast for grandma. P ( Parker’s nickname) was crying tears of torture because he hates not being able move. I took out his baby blanket and placed it on the hardwood floor, so he could play on the floor without getting cold. Mom left for work about ten minutes after, she had kissed parker and I goodbye.
“Now you be good for uncle Derrek, Parker. Don’t let him get into anything,” I replied I will mother love ya, have a good day at

I sat down on the rough black leather couch in the living room with grandpa and grandma while they watched the new and my eyes were on P. Parker was lying on his back playing with the light blue stuffed elephant that grandma had bought him when he was born. After he played for a bit it was time to feed him, grandma showed me how to prepare his bottle. The formula he had to drink smelled awful, it was Gerber Soy for sensitive tummies. Grandma explained to me that that
“ You must always put three scoops of the soy powder in the bottle. Make sure you warm the water and fill up the bottle to six ounces, then shake very well.” The feeding part was very difficult. I gave him the bottle, helped him and held his head with my arm. He was sucking down the bottle as fast as he could. He acted if he had not eaten in days!
I try my best to make sure he didn 't eat too fast so he didn 't choke on the formula. I made sure that after every two ounces, it was time to burp him. Once Parker was done eating, he fell

asleep in my arms and I took him to my grandma’s room where we had set up a little to go crib.
Parker slept for about an hour until he awakes screaming. I ran into the room to make sure

Can this day get any worse , I thought to myself, so then instead I just got a large coke in a foam cup. When we got home I slept on the couch that was sitting in the dining room because our “man cave” was getting renewed because we had just started working on it since we moved in. The sun was brightly shining through the window when I woke up, to the sound of my dad making his Caribou coffee. He said we had to go to school to drop off my two little brothers and then we could go to the surgeon. When we got to school everybody asked what and how this happened, i was so tired of telling the same story over and over.…

Meow!” my sister imitated. We put the cage down on the middle seat in the back and drove home with the kitten meowing all the way home. When we finally got home, I saw my dad organizing the cat food, water bowl and litter box. I decided to help and got a scratch pad from the garage and also a cat bed. Its pretty tiring to set all of this up just for a pet, I thought.…

The Horrible Trip to Olive Garden “Happy Birthday, Mommy!” screamed my son into my ear, while jumping on my bed and waking me up. “Can you give me at least this day to sleep in?” I asked, while being a little annoyed as I opened my eyes looking around the room, with my gaze ended up looking straight into Tommy’s green eyes. “But it’s already 10 a.m., how long do you want to sleep?
