John's Short Story: The Earth Is Flat

I’ve been told the ground is flat, yet we live on a round planet. I’ve also heard that the planet is flat. I don’t know which one to believe, but I know I’m standing on something flat, so I’ll see the ground as such. Sometimes, it’s as hard and solid as concrete, because it probably is concrete. It’s called a sidewalk. I used to see red sidewalks all the time, but then I was told they’re either gray or white. Since then, I’ve only seen gray or white ones. All the red concrete vanished in an instant. I live in small, one-story house near the far edge of town, but it’s the most beautiful house I could ever dream of.
