Personal Narrative Essay: The Death Of Roberto Cruz

My father passed away when I was about four. My mother got together with a man named Roberto Cruz right after my father passed away. My mother worked in a little dinner and he did not let her visit us since we lived in the Aldea Altupe with my grandmother at the time. He was very jealous regarding my mother. If she said she was going out he would beat her. She always had bruises on her body from him. Roberto killed my mother by poisoning her. He locked her up so she would not leave and he told her that she would kill her children one by one. They found her died and it was noted that she was poisoned. The reason he is looking for me is because he is afraid that I will avenge my mother's death. I do fear that he will succeed in killing me since he did kill my mother. I did not report this to the police when he shot me the first time because I was afraid. Roberto also shot a women as well and killed her and the police are after him for that, but they can not catch him because he seems like he is crazy. On November 11, 2012 is when the second attempt to kill me happened. He went to where I was working since it was a place that was out in the fields where there is not a lot of people around. He took out his gun and shot at me again. I was in military training for about two years and with the skills I learned I was able to get away from him. He only shot me once, but he said that he would try a way to kill me sooner or later. I found out later Roberto told one of my cousins that I was working with to take me to a field where no one was around so he could kill me. He offered my cousin money in order for him to do it, but my cousin did not do it and went to tell me what was going on. I had already been trying to be calm about what was going on and would try to not take any risks when going out or going to
