Personal Narrative: Waking Up In High School

Improved Essays
The day it all started felt like any other day... It involved the amazingly boring daily routine of high schoolers: getting up at 6:45am only to hit snooze on the alarm clock repeatedly until the moment where they find the guts to get up...

"Another day of boredom" they both thought. They were wrong...

Tessa's POV

Today getting up was the usual struggle, how could it not be? Who in the world wants to go to school...? High school for that matter! The only good thing about waking up today, besides remaining alive, was the fact that Imagine Dragons' "I'm on top of the World" managed to lift my spirits up and make me look forward to this mundane day.

After I finished my classes for the day I started heading to my week-old job, loving the

I'm not too sure why though...

"Oh, sweet I guess."

I smile at his answer but before I can answer, I see my boss coming out of her office, and as she starts walking towards us she looks at me and then at her watch... All I can think is "please go away"... She ends up giving me the "bitch get a move on" look...

"Uhm... James, I have to go. My boss is giving me a sour look... But DON'T YOU DARE KILLING YOURSELF! You WILL call me first thing tomorrow and we will continue this conversation!" I am totally not going to live up to this little and probably pathetic threat of mine but it's always worth a shot, nobody should feel like nobody cares about them!

"Do you really think that you, a girl I've just met a couple minutes ago, will be able to convince of something that's been stuck in my head for God knows how long?" His voice is sad, I can't notice one bit of happiness in it...

"Because if you do do it I will track you down, bring you back to live only to kill you all over again!"

"Uuu... How spooky!"

"No need to be stupid, just promise me you won't hurt yourself." All I hear is silence on the other side of the line "James, promise me! Please promise me you won't do anything.

The transition from High School can often times be very frustrating for students. L. Lennie Irvin opened my eyes to one of the bad habits I picked up on in High school. For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. I woke with a start at the obnoxious noise coming from my alarm. It was 9:00 a.m. on a Thursday, in the middle of the summer. Today, I was going to my favorite place in the world: the Tulsa State Fair. I dragged myself down the creaking stairs and into the family room, where I turned on the television. I then ate a bowl of cocoa puffs and went back upstairs to prepare myself for the day.…
