No one is excited to leave but everyone is ready to get home. We hit the road early trying to make time on the long drive. The road was empty, we were the only one’s out at this time of the morning. We had the radio playing quietly to help us sleep. I feel myself dozing off and the next thing I remember is waking up to the sun shining on my face. We are out of the mountains now, but still a long ways from home and we keep pushing on. We’re close, we can see signs showing the distance home and we’re anxious. Finally after hours of driving, we made it. I’ve never been so excited to be home.
This road trip has paved the way for road trips in my future. There were so many sites to see and things to do that I just have to go again. I hope that when I have a family of my own, that I can take them on road trips that will change the way they think of vacations. It’s not about the destination, it’s about the
