an adult that i found most influential on me as a young child would have to be nikki sypher. she was a babysitter i had from about 6 all the way into middle school when i was able to be alone. nikki was like a mom to me when i didn't have one, her daughter and i became like sisters as i spent most of my time with the family due to having a single dad and he was active in the navy. she introduced me to church and a lot of different foods that i was not fond of at the time, but have very much grown a liking for. we would also go to movies and she would let us go to the rec center for holiday dances and we spent time playing at the park.

nikki was always there whether it be for school help, boy help or anything in between she was always

another characteristic that she had was selflessness she taught me that no matter how little you have someone else always has less and if there is someone that needs it more let them have it help them out don't just sit and watch someone sink be a friend to a stranger be a helper to someone in need a memory i have was taking pies to homeless people that stood on the road on holidays we would go and give each one a pie we made about five extras a year and handed them out. i think the thing i admired most though was her independence she had a husband on active duty and she basically raised three kids by herself and i wasn't even her actual child but she did it and she never treated me any different she pushed me to excel in school, at home with friends, without her showing me that a women can be independent and have kids and a job and go to school i don't know that i could have handled the year i just did with my two boys while my husband went and served overseas. im not sure that id be attempting college with two young boys right now either had she not

    1. Compassionate. While mom had many struggles and barriers to overcome in her lifetime, she always put others first. She worried about the well-being of her family, never hesitated to help a friend in need, and did for others without any thought of how her actions might inconvenience her. It was always about showing kindness, caring, and concern for others. She did this for me when I was diagnosed with cancer and needed surgery.…

I was ten years ago and I can still vividly remember sitting on an old, wooden rocking chair while the words of The Very Hungry Caterpillar trembled off my lips to a room full of second graders. There was a fire that lit in my ten-year-old body that day. That was the day where I finally had an answer to all the “What do you want to be when you grow up?”…

My life started off a few months earlier than it should have. That was a very early obstacle that I don’t even remember. It is speculated that being a premature baby might have caused any of the early childhood obstacles that I encountered. As far as I remember, the first few years of my life were fine. In kindergarten, according to my dad, I was very talkative and liked to help kids with “subjects that I excelled in, such as spelling”.…

At any age, moments of insecurity can reflect times of childhood uncertainty, the expression of identity I was portraying through my theme and blog is that in life when you are younger you wish to be older and sometimes when you're older you wish to be young again. However not in the most positive way, such as wanting to be older because by that time life it could be all figured out, also wanting to be younger to escape a situation where you feel uncertain wanting to be a child again because they most likely wouldn’t be put in that type of situation. “Like some days you might say something stupid, and that's the part of you that's still ten. Or maybe some days you might need to sit on your mama's lap because you're scared, and that's the part…

The option to be born is definitely is not a personal decision, where an individual has no say in altering factors in their life. Factors like someone’s birth order can ultimately affect how someone may grow up in a certain household. Despite the actuality of siblings growing up in the same household and in most cases by the same parental forces, there is a shift in experiences where an individual can lead completely different lives compared to their sibling. As each child brings new life into a household and our new contemporary attitudes and temperament clashes with old traditional values, our birth order provides aid in the molding and internalizing character traits to influence individuality and life beyond childhood. “The Peacemaker” or more commonly known as the middle child serves a distinctive place in the family, as the ability to adapt to any situation comes more naturally compared to other siblings.…
