Personal Narrative Essay: The Varsity Football Team

After making the mistake of hanging with the wrong crowd and spending close to two years at a community school I returned to regular school and decided I’d never let anyone in like that again nor would I ever be bullied again. I came into high school five feet nine inches two hundred pounds and ready to fight anyone who tried to bully me and I did. I got into a few scuffles during my freshman year of high school but still made the varsity football team due to how aggressive I was as well as the varsity wrestling team. Unfortunately due to the personality I had developed at community school of never taking anyone bullshit I got into one to many fights and was expelled again but this time I was forced to go to a different high school instead of a continuation …show more content…
I gave up football because a lot of the guys on the team viewed me as a meat head who would fight anyone and would try to get me to fight there battles for them or try to get their hands on me to prove themselves; I had decided these kind of people weren’t good for me nor would they help me reach mend goal like Wherry told me not every battle is worth fighting so I gave up football to wrestle fulltime. Once i had given up on football we well as gotten rid of all the negativity that was carres by the other football players i started to grow as a person. For one the wrestling team treated me as an equal. They didnt force me to be someone i wasn't they didnt make me feel like an outsider. If they messed with me it never felt like i was being attacked but rather it felt playful. As i focused on purley wrest ling i started to form a bond with the guys on my team and we all got better together as a unit. After all these years of wanting real friends being closed off from the world i had finally found my clique and this lead to more success than i could have imagined. My sophomore year of high school was filled with many triumphs and lessons. For one i was voted captain of the varsity team by the
