Parents are very unique; some are nice, some are strict, some are helpful, some are rich. Every single parent in the world is different. I think that my mom is very helpful because I probably wouldn’t go to this school if it weren’t for my mom. I would live a hour and thirty minutes away and I might dislike the Muskego Norway school district. Obviously I’m still here so she must have done something.
My mom lived in a lot of different places when she was growing up. She lived in Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky. She made really good friends in every state she lived in. It was really hard for her to leave all of her friends and never see them again, but my mom still sucked it up and powered through her losses and made new friends. My mom was telling me that I would make it through just like she did and that I would make friends and everything would be fine. I was very paranoid though, so I didn’t really think that. When I got to school my first day, I was really scared. I thought no one was going to like me. My parents had to leave to work early though, so I had to go to the before school program. My mom walked me in and told the aide that I was new. She said to have a good day at school, and then she had to go. The aide then asked me what I liked to do. I shrugged. I was very frightened of all of the kids in the gym. The aide asked, “Do you want to go play with legos”. I shook my head. The aide suggested, “Would you sit by the boys with the pokemon cards”. I said no. The aide said, for one final time, said, “Can you go play blocks with Zach”? For some reason, I relented. I think that with my mom telling me her stories, about her moving to new states and having to make new friends and succeeding, that I finally said yes. Without her help I probably would have just stayed away from everyone and not have gotten any friends. I did though. Zach turned out to be a pretty friendly kid. Within five minutes, he was teaching me a game called ball tag. We played that for an hour straight and eventually people started joining our game. I made other friends that day, and I came home from school
