Personal Narrative Essay: The 1999 Columbine Massacre

It was just another day; getting ready for school and trying to finish up homework but today was different. On Tuesday April 20, 1999 Columbine school shooting happen by Dylan Klebold 17 and Eric Harris 18 (west). I was running late like usual trying to gather up all my papers for school. I got to school at 8:10. I walked in and went to my first three classes of the day. Eric and Dylan arrive at different times, in different cars parking close to the exit/ entrance of the cafeteria (West). They left their cars carrying several CO2 bombs, one semi automatic 9mm hand gun, 9mm carbine rifle, a sawed off twelve gauge shot gun, sawed off twelve gauge pump shot gun and brought in a duffel bag with one twenty pound propane bomb that could kill …show more content…
I could see Mrs. Burns run in the hallway yelling at them to get under the tables cause there were kids out in the hall with guns (bernall). They must have not believed her because she said this three times. The kid that got injured in the hallway made his way to the library but I heard a big boom when he came in like as he fell. Thats when they realize it wasn't a prank (Bernall). I ran in there to try to get them to run out. I ran in and I could see Seth holding Cassie in his arms and Sara holding Cassie's legs (Bernall). Dylan and Eric had made their way to the library. I dove behind the bookshelves and watch where Dylan and Eric walked. The two gunman kicked a chair hitting a arm and head of someone and pointed a gun at them but they didn't shoot they left like they needed to reload (Bernall). I got up and yelled at them to get up and run for the doors. I stood by the door and made sure everyone got out. Sara and Seth and the other students made it our but Cassie did not (bernall). I ran to her to try to help but they came back. I jumped behind the computer desk and Cassie went under a table. Both the boys walked over to Cassie and and asked if she believed in God because she must've been visible to them that she was praying (Bernall). I heard what they asked her and I wanted to cry but I covered my mouth ( Bernall). Cassie said yes in strong way and not a shaky way ( Bernall). …show more content…
I made it out but cassie did not. They say Cassie was shot in close range, gun to her head and they think she tried to protect her self because her finger was blown away (bernall). Dylan and Eric killed four and injured four; most in the west area of the library (Bernall). In total they murdered 12 schoolmates and one teacher, wounding 24 other people and killed them selves (Bernall). The officers said that the shooters chose athletes, minorities and christians as their victums (Bernall). Everyone wondered till today what motivated them. They think they were bullied and influenced by violent games (History staff). I never knew Eric was getting bullied. I don't even think they were but from the videos they taped they wanted to stand out and they did. It made is the worst school shooting in American history (chua-Eoan Howard). This is surely the most worst thing I have ever been through and wish upon nobody. We lost friends and family and this is the worst day of Columbines school students and
