Personal Narrative Essay: Teaching Myself How To Cook

Improved Essays
Teaching Myself How to Cook Revenge is a dish best served cold. I tried to think of another amazing anecdote to use about cooking, but for some reason this is the one that kept coming to mind. But that can be true even without the evil sounding tone of revenge. I am not sure if it was eating the homemade doughnuts, being allowed to help grill, or making cakes as a kid that got absorbed in my sub-conscious as the reason I enjoy cooking. Cooking has been something scary and fun during my process of learning. I have enjoyed learning to cook for myself and learning from my many mistakes. Watching shows about cooking are actually really exciting for me. Even going shopping for things that revolve around food is a good time. I will discuss two …show more content…
In this manner, I can use this to understand what mistakes I make when I cook. When I was younger the trial and error method was literally just that, because there was no YouTube and not everyone had internet at their constant disposal. Writing down what is needed is a good way to prepare the list of ingredients or even writing the whole process, which some would call a recipe. For the list of ingredients, it is important for me to check home first before I go out and use money that I do not need to use. From there I start writing my list of cooking materials needed, be it ingredients for food or equipment needed to help me do the type of cooking I plan to do. Time is also a part of the preparation for me when I cook. One thing I normally do is think about how much time I have and if it will not interfere with anything I have already planned. For me, I do not like being time constricted with something that I like to do, unless I planned it that way. I have had many times where I got stressed out because I forgot to do a step needed for preparation and have to work against the clock. Having my instruments clean and ready to go, ingredients needed and time needed figured out, in my book, makes for a tasty meal that I cannot wait to

Sunlight poured in as Lacher sat at his desk, a book resting in his hands. His eyes traced the words on the page, focusing intently on what he was reading. My family were looking for something we could do in Downtown Sacramento last September 2nd, this year. I searched on Google about events that will happen that Saturday, and I found out about a 3-day SacAnime event at the Sacramento Convention Center. My sixteen-year-old son loves anime shows, so he was ecstatic when I told him about the event, and so did I, as I’ve never been to an event like that. So off we went to the convention. While we were walking toward the convention, we saw hundreds of people everywhere dressed up in costumes with their favorite characters from different shows, series, movies, cartoons and so on.…
