Taking Granddad Fishing I heard the door to my bedroom open and woke up to my father telling me it was time to get ready. The birds were not even chirping yet and it was still dark enough that the dusk to dawn lights were on. It was cool, crisp and a little hazy that morning as we made our way out to the garage. There was some work to do in order to get the boat, tackle and fishing poles ready prior to making our short trip south down Lake Lawrence Road to pick up my Uncle Lawrence and my Granddad for a fishing adventure that I will never forget. I guided my dad as he backed the truck up to the shed where he stored the boat. We hooked it up and he pulled it around to the front of the garage. We loaded tackle boxes, life vests, anchors, …show more content…
Everyone exited the boat when my dad asked the Game Warden, “what can we do for you sir?” He stated, “I’m just out checking folks to make sure they have licenses and that everyone is legal.” We all took out our fishing licenses, handed them to him and he verified that we all had the appropriate permits. The sun was so bright it felt like it was 100 degrees outside but as I walked I could feel the fresh water on my feet I careful stepped on the rock hoping they would be sharp enough to cut me. As I walked in deeper into the clear blue lake I felt my skin getting colder which I loved. Then later that day my parents began to prepare some dinner, I began to smell the aroma of hamburger meat, which made my mouth watered with hunger. While the sun went down my dad started to set up a bonfire.…

It was a hot summer, sunny day in Florida usually like most others but today was special. I was going deep-sea fishing for the very first time, my mom told me to put on a lot of sunscreens, so I don’t get sunburn. My family and I got dressed and got into the car and made our way for Pompano Beach pier, where the charter boat would be leaving from. We all packed into the boat like a can of sardens, the captain started the engine and we looked over at the glistening deep blue ocean, the seas where calm, when we arrived at the fishing spot the mates gave us fishing poles and told us to drop the baits in the water, a few seconds later the rod is bent over and the line is screeching like crazy, my parents and the captain start yelling at me to reel…
