THE COMET
The raven was soaring aimlessly high above the twinkling stars and below was a neighborhood as quiet as a cricket’s crick except for one. Residents were inside their gated community not giving a damn about what is outside. Well, the only things they care about are their luxurious homes and their platinum cards. If one was to take it, all hell would break lose but what if one were to give it all up? That late night something sparked in the middle of its streets and it produced lights so bright but both were kept hidden. No one saw a thing except for the raven. The raven who was keenly observing saw what it was, it was a miracle, it was a dream come true.

Last night was different. Rye and Tove sure did their job. The party was great, there is no doubt about that but something wasn’t right. Yeah, I know I was never fond of parties but it wasn’t that. There was something else about that night that I can’t piece together. Who is she? What was her name? Where did she come from? Was it real? Was she real? Those are the questions I can’t seem to find the answers to but I know that it was the first time I didn’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not. For the first time life was crystal clear. The doorbell rang and rang but no one was downstairs to answer the door so I sipped the last drop of my coffee and answered …show more content…
When will their quarrel end? My parents never agreed on something. What happened to them? Sometimes I wonder if they ever loved one another or were it all because of security. I’m thankful for all the things they’ve given me. I know that both of them especially my mother just wants to give the best for me but my father is complicated. They want me to follow their footsteps and be a surgeon just like them but I don’t and they can’t accept that. It was never my dream to be a doctor. I left that house and went to Rye’s and try to take my mind of things. When I got there the house was filled with people. Some I know. Some I don’t. They were dancing on the playing wild upbeat song. I’m not a party boy kind of guy but Rye is, he does it all the time even if there’s no occasion to celebrate. I looked around and saw Rye standing in the corner talking to some guy I didn’t recognize. He asked me what I was doing there and said that it didn’t matter but I am here so I should enjoy it. I came here at 10pm and only 30 minutes have passed until I got tired of talking to people I wouldn’t even see the next day or any day after that. I go around and tried to find Rye to say my goodbyes and try to get some fresh air. He understood me and said that he would see me when he can. His house was 11 blocks away from mine and It was going to be a long walk. If you want to clear your head, walking at night sure does the trick. I walked and walked and walked until I

Each of the two stanzas has a different energy. In the first stanza, the eagle is very calm, ready to pounce, with a lot potential energy, sitting on the steep cliff. In the poem, lines 4 and 5, state “He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls.”…

The Raven Reader Response The distinction between imagination and real life in literature is sometimes hard to identify. The authors of these types of works make imagination seem so realistic that the audience begins to believe the character's imagination. The bird in this poem may seem real but there are many signs that it is not.…

Throughout this poem, Poe’s typically dark, mysterious, and chilling imagery is prominent. The setting of this poem is simply dark. In the first line, Poe states that the author is awoken “upon a midnight dreary,” instantly projected a black shade over the entire poem. The raven itself is also a symbol of darkness and despair that Poe incorporated into his poem. Ravens are solid black in color and are often associated with “dark” subjects such as death and witchcraft.…

They put a curly, honey blonde wig on you, the color of hair you use to have before you dyed everything raven black. Your tight, sickening pale skin clung to your pores, and placid expression. Your eyes, which used to be a brilliant and enchanting blue, were closed so that those of weak mind, didn’t have to see the naked truth of pain. They tried to make you look alive, plastering your skin with artificial liquids. They gave you red lips; ironically the same color as your blood.…
