Reasons being poor road condition, use of corrosive salts during the winter, and vast commute distances. I would like to say that I am the one exception, but I am not. Over the two years I have owned my truck, I have invested hundreds of hours repairing it. Often I was very angry at the time of the repair. Looking back over all the experience it creates a bond between myself and the truck. The most significant repair happened recently due to high miles. My trucks engine decided that it no longer wanted to run properly. At the time I was going out of my mind thinking of the extensive costs related to replacing an engine. After a few day, I made up my mind I will do the engine swap myself. I removed the engine, finding out that I had popped a piston. Knowing what the problem was enabled me to order all the required parts I needed to repair it. Over a course of a long grueling week I was able to replace all of the broken parts. After I had put every component back into its original location, I was able to reattach all of the sensors. The sheer enjoyment I experience when the engine turned over is only out shadowed by the birth of my son. In between break down there were some good times. One enjoyable time …show more content…
I purchased the truck two years ago paying $5000.00 for it used as is. Over the two years I replaced multiple front end parts, two sets of tires, and regular oil changes. Replacing the engine is by far the most expensive situation yet. By the time I had replaced all the parts I was in the ball park of $6000.00. My 2004 Dodge pickup will always hold a place in my

One problem with my car is that it looks terrible. The once-shiny paint is now dull and bleached from road salt, there are patches of rust around the wheel wells and fenders. There is a dent in the passenger door that someone left while I was grocery shopping last year, and ever since another student hit my car in the school parking lot, the trunk latch has not worked, and I have had to tie it down with a cord. Furthermore, the interior of my car is no better than the exterior. The carpet is stained from years of carrying around two kids and a dog, and the upholstery is torn in several places.…
