I knew that something was wrong the moment I bit into the pretzel nugget. As the crunchy exterior gave way to the savory filling within, my mouth was flooded with an unfamiliar taste. Heart sinking, I recognized exactly what it was, though I had never tasted it before. Perfectly consistent with the scent of my parents’ daily breakfast, my palate identified it as peanut butter. Panic set in as I rushed around seeking a trash can to expel the anaphylactic time bomb sitting in my mouth.…

Remember the last time you were at a casino and you heard all that yelling at the craps table and wondered “what are they yelling about”, but you never ventured over there because you are too intimidated by craps. You’re not the only one. I used to watch from a distance trying to figure out what was going on, people were throwing chips everywhere yelling all sorts of crazy jargon (“press”, “same bet”, “hard 8”, “odds”) all while the dealers are moving chips all over the place paying people and taking other people’s money. What a crazy and intimidating game.…

I remember in fourth grade my teacher insisted that we come to school the following day dressed as we would in our dream career. In that moment, I realized how I enjoyed creating new ideas and designing fashion. I then reminisced on the day I got my first Barbie. I use to mix and match her clothing with previous dolls I owned.
