Personal Narrative Essay: Police Investigator

A knock, initiated by two police investigators with two other officers. They asked for my boyfriend Isaac. He was from a popular family known as the Romaines, they are known to be actors and songwriters in our small town of Booker. I requested Isaac to come to the door, and his look shifted.
“ Why are you here?” He questioned the investigators.
“ Isaac Romaine you're under arrest for the possession of Marijuana. You have the right to remain silent. If you give up the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you desire an attorney and cannot afford one, an attorney will be obtained for you before police questioning.” Isaac did nothing to resist the arrest as they shackled him to handcuffs.

This is Isaac’s girlfriend. I am sorry to say he got arrested, do you know anything of it?” The other voice waited a few moments before deciding to answer. =
“ Yes, i do your boyfriend loves to poke his head in wrong places. He tried to play with fire and got burned.” The call immediately was dropped. I phoned Sabrina and drove to her house speeding.
“ What are we going to do?” She touched my hand.
“ What can we do? He’s gone and i called some number he left behind and they gave me no clues except that Isaac must have triggered the guy.” I sighed.
“ That’s it, i can trace the caller’s location and we can go see if he’s still there.”
“ Just leave it, he went to jail and he screwed up, there’s plenty of other guys around.” I complained. He was my longest relationship, and really did care about me. But i didn’t want to endanger myself because of someone else's mistakes. Do i really wanna help him no, how can i help him? Sabrina was typing away so quickly her fingers appeared as rapidly moving lines. Sabrina abruptly stopped the typing, and turned her head around to face me.

This Supreme Court decision was brought about by the conviction of Ernesto Miranda, who provided a confession to police without being informed of his right to counsel and his right to remain silent. The Arizona State Supreme Court upheld the conviction, but the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that because he had not been informed of his rights, his rights had not been properly upheld. The key to this decision is the distinction between an informed waiving of those rights, and an uninformed waiving of those rights.
