“I can’t believe that I have to eat, sleep, and breathe on this college campus. The people are so bizarre. Can I just lay in my bed and not go to class?” contemplated Paul, as he lay awake in his bed the first Monday morning of the semester. Paul had walked around James Madison University’s campus during FROG week with the feeling of dread; James Madison University had not been his first choice (he had his eyes set on Harvard), but it was the only college that he got an acceptance letter from. That week, as his eyes journeyed from student to student, he couldn’t help but feel like this college was odd. Everyone had a smile on their face, was wearing purple and gold attire, and appeared to be genuinely experiencing the best moments of their lives;

Claire opens up her laptop and begins the test without any aids. Paul stares at his computer screen speechless. In an attempt to encourage Claire to cheat, Paul opens up another tab on his laptop and says, “I didn’t know how hard this test was going to be. I probably should have studied more, but I didn’t really have any time.” Claire looks over at Paul and glances at his laptop screen, clearly able to see that he is about to cheat. However, Claire is not fazed and continues to focus on her own test. Realizing that he really did not study enough for this test because he was so concentrated on catching Claire in the act of cheating, he quickly peeks at Claire’s screen. At that moment, Claire’s eyes catch his and in an outrage, exclaims, “I can’t believe that you would look at my test. You are the one cheating, and I am going to go to the Honor Council with this. This test is the most important test in our college careers, and you think you can just mooch off of me to get what you want. You are a terrible person.” Claire shoots up and leaves the room to finish her test, leaving Paul
