Personal Narrative Essay: One Of A New Girl

Improved Essays
I was late to Group, again. I ran in and said sorry to Penny. I went to sit in my usual seat, but someone caught my eye. She was new, but she looked familiar. I don't know how, but I feel like I know her, but I've been Slated, I do not remember anything in my past.
I missed her introduction, but I wanted a proper greeting. "Hello, are you the new girl? I'm Ben," I say. I noticed her cheeks turned red.
Tori rolled her eyes."Yes, Ben, you've missed the introductions. Ben, this is Kyla; Kyla, this is Ben."
"Welcome," I say while I smile into her eyes. Later in Group, Penny told us to split up into smaller groups. I was with my usual partner Tori, and everyone else were in their usual groups. I looked over at Kyla, and she was unsure where to go. I walked over to her and leaned over. "Join us?" I asked, smiling. Our eyes met, and there was a moment of silence. I broke it,"Well?"
"Alright."

I was surprised to see her here. "I didn't know you run."
"I can run," she said. We sat next to each other on the bus, and I leaned over and whispered in her ear,"Are you here because I am?"
"What? No!" She then punches me in the arm.
"Ow!" I rubbed my arm. "I was kinda hoping you were." She smiled but didn't respond. We arrived at the practice course. We always splitslipt up into two groups, boys, and girls. Boys started running first then girls followed. We lined up, and the gun blew. We were off. I'm the fastest on the team, but I can't compete because Slateds can't compete in school sports. I waited at the finish line for everyone. In the distance, I saw Kyla passing some boys. Wow, she's amazing, I thought. Her knees were all scraped up. "What happened?"
"I tripped. I'm not used to the uneven ground."
"Yet, you still managed to beat every girl and even some of the boys, too. That's very impressive." I said while getting out the first aid kit.
"Thanks!" She responded. I put band-aids on her

I walk to the back of the classroom, and sit exactly in the middle. Then I put my head down, and wait for class to start.…
